Chicago Time Attack 2 Podium Finishes: June 11th-12th 2010

Street Tire Class:

Our steet tire time attack car took another podium spot this weekend!! This gives us 2 podiums for both events that we competed in. Todd Reid has really turned up the wick this year and plans on bringing home another podium at the next east coast event!

Unfortunately, there was a huge wreck in our run group and we only got 1 clean lap in on our timed session. Then it proceeded to monsoon and all other timed sessions were ended for the day. This prevented us to really run the car to its full potential as we planned to up the boost and let Todd Reid lay down the hammer. We ended up in 3rd place right behind the Cobb STI. We are more than confident that our Evo had faster times in it, but unfortunate circumstances out of our control prevailed. Todd Reid intends to make a strong showing in Sebring, displaying the true capabilities of our car and hopefully securing another 1st place finish!!

Modified AWD Class:

Our Modified car was plagued with problems all weekend due to a faulty wastegate and manifold. The good ole guys at AMS Chicago helped tremendously with the car and it was fixed by the Super Session Lap Battle. We barely made it to the grid in time and rolled in at the last minute just as the cars were about to roll out! We were at the back of the pack and by the second lap we were at the front of the pack and won the race!

Whit Staples did one hell of a job in the rain, and his vast wheel to wheel racing experience really shined through here! It should be noted that he went out on brand new tires that were not even scrubbed in!! Check out the video of this epic battle!!
